Welcome

As a child, taking private violin lessons was one of my weekly highlights.  Learning how to play an instrument inspired me to study Music Education so I could help others find the joy of playing and creating music for themselves.  It is my privilege to offer private violin and cello lessons.  It is my hope that this opportunity stirs people to personally discover and experience music through one of these instruments.

I arrived in Schaffhausen in February of 2008 and soon there after contacted the International School of Schaffhausen.  Since then I have also made connections with the International School, Zurich North and Marcandella Musikhaus in Schaffhausen.  I am excited to have made these contacts and learn more about the music community of this area.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this music making opportunity.  Please take your time to browse this site and when you have questions please contact me.

Biography

Job Title: String Teacher

I attended Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota (USA) from August 2002 until May 2007.  My love of teaching grew during my private teaching experience through the college's Academy of Music.  Thus I decided to pursue my Kindergarten through twelfth grade Music Education degree.  I started playing the violin at the age of ten and participated in both the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony and the Minnesota Youth Symphony.  My violin instructors at Northwestern included Mary Sorlie from the Minnesota Sinfonia and Roger Frisch, associate concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra.  My teaching experience includes work in over 5 different public school settings and 4 years of private teaching experience.  I now have the pleasure of playing Schaffhausen's own Salon Orchestra as their new concert mistress.

My goal for each student is that they experience making music to the fullest of their potential.
